Day 2

October 31, 2021

Today started with a surprise:  I got an e-mail from Delta Airlines saying on the flight to Seattle I achieved Million Miler status.  I know, woo-hoo.  But it came with a $250 flight voucher that doesn't expire, so that was a good way to start the day.

This morning we did attend church at Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Vancouver, WA as planned.  Difficult to find, even with GPS, but we made it.  It was a great service and sermon.  After church, we went to a local coffee shop.  Well, you know Andy.  Post coffee, we hit the road and drove down to Eugene, OR.  Then we went out in the country to see the King Estate winery.  Here's a picture of the approach to the winery:

The King Estate winery is located at the southern end of the Willamette Valley.  This area has an excellent climate for growing Pinot Noir grapes, and the wines from this region are renowned.  The area is really beautiful.  Here's a couple of amazing views from the winery parking lot:

Here's a shot of Andy taken looking northeast from the front of the winery:

This is taken looking southeast from the front of the winery across what I think is a bed of lavender:

After visiting the winery, we drove into Cottage Grove, OR and had dinner at Jack Sprat's.  Then we drove down to Grant's Pass, OR where we're spending the night at The Lodge at Riverside on the Rogue River.

The car continues to run fine with no issues.  Our plan for the morrow is to check out the river, then head west to see the giant redwood trees, so more photos on the morrow.  Thanks for reading!
