Hurricane Katrina

My Experiences and Impressions

I am using Buck Mosal's web page because all my normal servers are down — thanks, Buck.

I was at my home in Ocean Springs, MS during hurricane Katrina. My home was not severly damaged or flooded, but the experience of this storm was quite a shock. I live some considerable distance from the water, yet the unbelieveable storm surge washed up my street, across the yards, and onto my back porch, mercifully stopping just short of entering the house. Many others were not as fortunate. What follows are some pictures and comments about Katrina's effects in a few isolated spots on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This storm was devastating, colossal, catastrophic — it is difficult to describe.
