Some Views Around My Neighborhood

A view up Breezy Hill Lane. I live around the curve (obstructed by debris) on the left near the entrance to the subdivision.

Reuben Byrd's house from across the street. My house is on the right.

My house as taken from down near my banana plant. No major damage, thank you God!

The remains of my banana plant. If it dies, maybe my sister, Elizabeth, will give me another one (she gave me that one).

Rene and Judy Johnson make the best of the storm playing cards and watching a battery powered television in my dining room.

Debris, debris, debris.

Looking up Government Street from Stark Bayou (where I live) toward Magnolia Park Elementary School and Jeff Absher's house on Knapp Road.

Downed lines, debris, and Magnolia Park Elementary School in the distance.

The school looks in pretty good shape from this vantage point.

The Ocean Springs Fire Department is clearing the road for emergency vehicle access.

Trees have to be cut away and downed wires pushed aside.

In between pictures, I really did pitch in and help them. I know it looks as though I just stood by and watched!

On to the next tree. You can just see Jeff Absher up ahead already working on it with some neighbors.

More progress made making the street passable. Many of the roads around town are only passable in one lane, if at all.

That's Jeff Absher applying a lever while his next-door neighbor cuts with the chain saw.
